Welcome to Cherry Grove Learning Centre

Situated in the heart of Haverfordwest, Cherry Grove Learning Centre is more than just a school; it’s a community where every student is supported and valued. Our motto, "Where learners become leaders," reflects our dedication to nurturing each student's potential with personalised attention and small class sizes.

Standard Curriculum and Subjects

Our curriculum is crafted to provide a comprehensive and engaging educational experience:

  • STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths): We focus on developing problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and practical applications to prepare students for future challenges.
  • English, Art, Music, and Drama: Encouraging creativity, communication, and self-expression through various subjects.
  • Humanities: Offering insights into history, geography, and cultural studies to help students understand and engage with the world around them.
  • Computer Science and Digital Literacy: Equipping students with essential skills in coding, IT, and media literacy preparing for a technology-driven world.

Our hands-on approach includes weekly outdoor excursions, offering students real-world experiences while reinforcing key curriculum areas.

Alternative Curriculum

Young people today face a world transformed by AI, climate uncertainty, and the lingering effects of COVID-19, leading to increased anxiety, especially among girls who feel the pressure of future unpredictability and social media expectations. For boys, digital reliance and lockdowns have led to greater isolation. These challenges contribute to rising mental health issues as they navigate an increasingly uncertain future.

Our bespoke programmes improve their self-confidence and understanding of themselves. We build resilience through understanding how we might fall into emotional reasoning and how to embrace failure as a learning experience. Critical Thinking is embedded in everything we do.

Leadership programmes and training courses with our partners such as the Welsh Rugby Union, Tennis Wales and more can lead to coaching qualifications and internships.

Our proven empowerment courses improve assertiveness and build the confidence essential to be independent thinkers.

"Lifelong learning is critical to success. We engage and enthuse young people and give them the skills to thrive."
